How Long Does the Debt Relief Program Take?

TABLE OF CONTENTS

The length of your debt relief program with Debt Consultants Group (DCG) depends on several key factors, including your total enrolled debt, your weekly payment amount, and how quickly creditors accept negotiated settlements. While every situation is unique, most clients complete the program in about 12 to 24 months.

Factors That Influence Program Duration:

Total Enrolled Debt: The more debt you enroll, the longer it may take to accumulate enough funds in your escrow account to settle each creditor one by one.

Your Weekly Payment: Higher weekly contributions help build your settlement fund faster, which can lead to quicker negotiations and account resolutions.

Creditor Responsiveness: Some creditors are more willing to negotiate early, while others may take longer to engage. Our Negotiations Team prioritizes accounts based on timing, balance, and leverage.

Escrow Account Growth: As your escrow account builds, we begin negotiating settlements as soon as funds are available and your file meets internal readiness. The faster your account grows, the sooner we can move forward.

Interruptions or Payment Delays: Pausing payments or delaying document submission may extend your overall timeline. Staying consistent helps keep your program moving smoothly.

Typical Program Completion Duration Times:

  •  Some clients finish in as little as 9–12 months
  • Most complete the program in 18–24 months
  • Larger debt loads or payment interruptions may require more time

DCG customizes your program timeline based on your affordability and debt structure. Your Case Manager will provide updates as settlements are completed and help keep you on track toward full resolution.
